Nordvand in Denmark Starts Production with GEONIS water
The Danish company Nordvand was one of the first water distributors to replace their outdated water network and inventory system IG Danvand with the standard solution GEONIS.
In Denmark, our client Nordvand was one of the first water distribution companies that decided to replace its outdated water network and inventory system IG Danvand with the standard GEONIS solution.
After a short period in which the specific Danish water transportation and distribution network requirements where configured, Nordvand was ready to put the GEONIS system into production in september 2015. The standard GEONIS water solution was configured by Powel Denmark to support the Danish requirements for water transportation and distribution networks. Through this project the GEONIS English-language solution was partly translated to Danish. This translation is an on-going process, whereby Powel Denmark started with the most important components required in the daily operation of the solution.
Parallel to the GEONIS Water solution the GEONIS for Wastewater solution is also being configured to support the Danish (Dandas) requirements. Due to the more complex data structure of the sewer solution, the efforts required to configure a Danish Dandas-compatible solution are higher. The goal is to have this solution ready for production at the latest by the end of 2015.
Nordvand, located north of Copenhagen, is one of the larger water distribution companies in Denmark, providing water to 200’000 customers. Nordvand has approximately 584 km of water mains. The water comes from their three water works in Gentofte and Gladsaxe, as well as from the regional water works at Sjælsø. In total, Nordvand produces more than ten million cubic meters of drinking water per year, which is equivalent to ten billion liters. In addition to providing drinking water, Nordvand handles wastewater for 140’000 consumers.
